In honor of this year's Brazil Week, at trio of young South American stars headline a three-set blockbuster Lincoln Center debut concert at Damrosch Park. Over five studio albums, hundreds of live shows, and more than 400 million streams across digital platforms, the São Paulo-based rapper Rashid has earned the crown of one of the leading voices in Brazilian rap. His most recent LP, 2024's Portal, finds the emcee paying respect to the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop. Tulipa Ruiz, a Brazilian singer-songwriter, is known for her powerful voice and moving lyrics. A Latin GRAMMY winner for Dancê (2015), she was nominated again in 2024 for "Habilidades Extraordinárias" and the song "Baby 95." Blending tropicália, rock, and electro-pop, Tulipa is a desired collaborator, having worked with artists like Elza Soares, João Donato, Emicida, and Adán Jodorowsky. Melly began singing at age six and, at just 23, has emerged as a standout voice in Brazilian music, blending American R&B with her Afro-Bahian roots. She gained recognition with the EP Azul (2021), a performance at Afropunk Bahia, and a Best New Artist win at the 2023 Prêmio Multishow. In 2024, she released her debut album Amaríssima, featuring collaborations with Liniker and Russo Passapusso, earning nominations for the Latin GRAMMY, Prêmio Multishow (MPB of the Year), and WME Awards, where she won in the Songwriter category. All three of these artists have worked together on past projects, so you can expect some special guests at each set!
