Both raised in the Connecticut suburbs on the albums of James Taylor and the musicals of Stephen Sondheim, Chris Peters and Madeline Benson each arrived in New York City with a passion for story and song. Benson soon made history as the youngest woman to conduct on Broadway when she served as a conductor for Sara Bareilles’ Waitress. Peters quickly became a favorite performer at downtown spots like Rockwood Music Hall and Pete's Candy Store as well as a sideman and producer for a new generation of singer-songwriters. They first collaborated as arrangers, orchestrators, and performers for the late luminary Gavin Creel's Walk On Through. Since then, Benson has been tapped to adapt the upcoming stage version of Disney’s Tangled alongside composer Alan Menken. Their Lincoln Center debut will feature music from Benson's just-released freshman album, produced by Peters, selections from Peters’ and Creel’s catalogs, and other favorites from their folk and theater roots.
